Requirements

Fully develop the market segment within a specific geographic territory concentrating on the solicitation of new and repeat business. To merchandise as skillfully as possible the guest rooms and function space or any other outlet to maximize revenue potential for the hotel and to ensure that the customer has the best possible meeting experience. To achieve monthly room night goals and banquet revenue goals, develop and implement sales action plans, maintain possible interdepartmental communications and to complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing.

Summary

Plans and administers sales policies and programs to foster and promote hotel patronage by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions

•Develop and build new corporate and group accounts in respective markets while maintaining and expanding current accounts.
•Works closely building new accounts, generating site inspections and closing on business.
•Maximizes sales by pre-qualifying potential business in terms of season and rate, arrival/departure patterns, meeting rooms and F&B requirements, past history for slippage and cancellation, and developing commitment through service for both repeat and referral business.
•Meet sales goals and quotas for group room nights and revenue, as well as outside call goals, which will change by quarter.
•Participate with Director of Sales and Marketing in developing annual Marketing Plan.
•Develop sales action plan for respective markets and meet commitments to follow through on present accounts, soliciting new accounts, site inspections, sales trips and trade shows using the mast connection methodology.
•Identifying new business that fits sales parameters by using a wide variety of means/tools
Prospecting for new business through individual creativity and innovation
•Negotiating group business that meets or exceeds hotel revenue goals
•Negotiating contracts, ensuring that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented
•Following proper event management procedures for event execution to include, but not limited to, BEO creation, F & B forecasting, resume communication, amenity/VIP designation and room block management
•Producing accurate contracts, banquet/catering event orders and resumes within timeframe set by hotel
•Responding to all leads and RFPs within 24 hours
•Maintaining accurate and timely internal hotel communication
•Conducting site inspections, local sales calls and attending appropriate trade shows and client events
•Creating a dynamic and positive relationship with customer from sales phase through on site execution of event
•Participate as required in Riverside Hotel and Industry programs and events. At times may participate in conference services and catering sales.
•Adheres to all Riverside Hotel Service Standards.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and taste or smell.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
